Im Februar 1959, wenige Wochen nach dem Sieg der Revolution auf Kuba, trifft das deutsche Kreuzfahrtschiff "BERLIN" in Havanna ein. Fidel Castro ist neugierig und geht an Bord. Kapitän Lorenz schläft- die Rebellen werden von der Kapitänstochter Marita empfangen. Sie nimmt ihnen die Waffen ab und lässt sie dann an Bord. So beginnt eine verhängnisvolle Affäre. Als sie im 7. Monat schwanger ist, wird in einer Klinik eine Frühgeburt eingeleitet. Der Fötus wird in Maritas Bauch zersägt. Sie hält Fidel Castro für schuldig. Marita lässt sich von der CIA als Giftmörderin anheuern und will Fidel Castro beim nächsten Besuch in Havanna töten. Daraus wird am Ende nichts. "Die Liebe war stärker. Ich klackste die Pillen, die mir Jonny Rosselli von der Mafia gegeben hatte, ins Bidet und wir machten Liebe." Später arbeitete sie als Spionin für das FBI und wurde gegen Ostblock-Diplomaten an der UN-Vertretung in New York eingesetzt. Ein bizarres Leben zwischen den Fronten des Kalten Krieges. Bis heute kommt sie von ihrer Liebe zu Fidel nicht los. Im Jahr 2000 ist es wieder soweit. Sie macht sich auf den Weg nach Havanna. "Ich muss ihn noch einmal sehen...." .
In February 1959 , only some weeks after the revolutionaries took over Cuba, the German cruise-ship BERLIN showed up in Havanna. Fidel Castro went on board and fell in love with the captain´s daughter, Marita. After 8 months of love and happiness Castro loses interest in her. Her happiness turns into a nightmare when she loses her child because of a forced abortion in the 7th month of pregnacy. She lets herself be recruited by the CIA, which wants her to kill the revolutionary leader with a poison capsule. But when she met Fidel again in his suite in the HABANA LIBRE- hotel she threw the pills away. "Love was stronger." She moves between the frontlines of an undeclared war. She spied for the FBI, moves in Mafia circles of New York and changes the fronts from time to time. She had learned how to survive a a 5-year-old girl in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp....A moving and bizarre journey through the turmoil of the Cold War from Bremen via New York and Miami to Havanna.
